The penultimate day of the RS:X Youth World Championships being held on Neva Bay in St Petersburg set everything up a nail-biting finale tomorrow. Four days ago when the championship started, there were 104 competitors from 19 different nations who were aspiring to stand on the podium tomorrow – that field of contenders has been narrowed down significantly after four days of intense and exciting racing in St Petersburg.
During the first two days of racing at the RS:X Youth World Championship, St. Petersburg, Neva Bay provided a range of testing conditions from 20 knots down to 5 knots. However, on day 3, the wind proved to be too fickle and the 104 competitors from 19 countries were forced to enjoy the shoreside activities instead.
In St. Petersburg, the qualification series for the RS:X Youth World Championship in the class RS:X finished as another three races were completed. Racing is being held in the waters of the Neva Bay, and a racing village is encamped ashore near the park of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg.
The first day of racing of the RS:X Youth World Championships took place on August 6. Racing took place in the water zone of the Neva Bay and nearby, in the Park of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg, there is a racing village for them and the guests of the event.
For the first time the yacht club of St. Petersburg hosts world-class competitions in the Olympic sailing class. Regattas for young men and ladies will be held in two age categories – up to 19 years old and up to 17 years old.
The races of the first leg of 2019 RC44 Cup finished on April 13 in Porto Montenegro in Tivat. Slovenian CEEREF, champions of R44 seasons 2016 and 2017, and 2016 world champions, secured their victory. Vladimir Prosikhin’s Team Nika came second, with British Team Aqua ranking third

The regular sailing season is very close, which means it is time to introduce the Saint-Petersburg Yacht Club's key activities and new initiatives in 2019, implemented jointly with PJSC Gazprom, the Yacht Club's general partner.
On the 10th of March 2019, the competitions of the second season of the international regatta for children OptiOrange Valecia finished in El Real Club Náutico Valencia.
Today, March 8th was the first day of the OptiOrange Valencia 2019, an international Optimist class regatta organized by the Real Club Náutico de Valencia and the Saint Petersburg Yacht Club.
Less than 10 days left to start of the second edition of the OptiOrange Valencia regatta to be held in El Real Club Náutico Valencia 7th to 10th March 2019. Organized by the St.Petersburg Yacht Club and El Real Club Náutico Valencia OptiOrange was successfully inaugurated in 2018 and for the second edition the entry list have grown twice. The mascot of the competition will be Naranjito.
On the 27th of February, 2014, the keel of the “Poltava” battleship replica was laid. Two parts of the keel were connected on that day. According to one of the maritime traditions, a golden coin was placed in the lock (where two parts of the keel are connected). The general partner of the project is PJSC Gazprom.
St.Petersburg Yacht Club events are always complemented by volunteers. They played crucial role in big events organization of the Sailing Academy, Historical shipyard “Poltava” as well. All the largest Club’s events, such as Extreme Sailing Series, Nord Stream Race, World Match Racing Tour и Sailing Champion League have always relayed much on volunteers’ assistance.
